Rhoades Young has come up with a very handsome and practical design, without straying to far from the Long Tall Sally interior design and style.  Aft, one guest cabin has been deleted. Two of the remaining cabins have lost their ensuite facilities. To port, the space gained has been filled by two communal heads and showers, and one cabin for equipment maintenance. Opposite, to starboard, a cabin has been inserted for safe storage of expedition equipment. Amidships the belowdecks saloon has been discarded, in exchange for which a large processing studio has been designed, sporting two large workspaces with ample computer storage, and reclining chairs for undisturbed team meetings.

The alterations do not compromise the level of style and quality implemented in Long Tall Sally’s interior design. Yet, Wild Sally has been succesfully designed into a stylish workboat where the expedition members will find they can work efficiently and comfortably.  

Depending on their tax status, the investors may expect a taxreturn of their cash investment nearly in full, within one and a half years from the moment they invested. The Tax Authorities will push a proportianally smaller claim into the distant future. This makes investing in one of our vessels even more atractive: the nearly full cash investment will be reimbursed without loosing the investor’s rights to a share in the profits. From this share the remaining future taxclaim should be easily payable by the way. For those interested a detailed memorandum has been drafted, detailing the structure and conditions allowing the investors to profit from the taxprogramme.

Our vessels’ predecessor, 45 ft yacht Sally Lightfoot, circumnavigated Africa in five years. Many articles as well as the book ‘Around Africa’ were published on this voyage. During the cruise the idea hatched to start sailing professianally to remote places. The company Sally Lightfoot was founded to provide safe and comfortable expeditions for explorers and yachtsmen eager to push some boundaries sailing, as well as some sailing boundaries.

Our vessels are designed by Gerard Dijkstra & Partners. Gerry Dijkstra and his team are well known for their J-Class designs as well as other mega yacht projects such as Maltese Falcon and Athena. But Dijkstra & Partners has a wide variety of high profile projects in its portfolio: such as square rigged full ship Stad Amsterdam and Greenpeace’s newest campaign vessel Rainbow Warrior III. Dijkstra’s own yacht, Bestevaer II, was our inspiration and zero point for the design of Sally Lightfoot’s vessels.

Our ships’ interiors are done by Rhoades Young. Dick Young started his career working for renown interior architect Andrew Winch. The Oyster yacht restyling was done by Young. His studio has a long standing cooperation with many of the Netherlands’ famous yards.

Explorer/photographer Daniel Fox follows in the footsteps of his childhood heroes David Attenborough en Jacques Cousteau, navigating the waters of Earth’s remote places. As from the summer of 2012, Wild Sally and her periodically rotating team of filmmakers, photographers, scientists and sailors will embark on a multi year mission to capture our ever changing fragile world, with the mission to motivate others to alter their perspective on global issues by aesthetically presenting information and ideas that stimulate engagement, involvement and transformation.

Wild Sally’s design will be based on Long Tall Sally’s. Alterations to her exterior might follow the desire to add a small submarine to the expeditions floating arsenal to be able to include deep water film to the overall footage.

The ships interior shall deviate from Long Tall Sally’s layout, without consessions to the general level of comfort. Funcionality will come first with long term onboard stays for rotating teams in mind. No distinction will be maintained between nautical and expedition crew, all will be enjoying the same level of comfort and cabinspace.

An onboard dedicated film and photo processing studio shall be added to the interior. The vessel shall be fitted out with the most advanced communication technoligy, for the team to be able to provide sponsors and other contract parties with up to date footage and information.

Long Tall Sally looks a no nonsense nautical workhorse. She’s all about exploring, adventure, the idea to step ashore where hardly anyone has landed before. This requires a sturdy, seaworthy and safe ship, on which a scratch here and there would not upset its owners or captain. Her interior should offer all modern creature comforts, without overdoing it. One should feel at home, safe and snug.

Long Tall Sally’s design is by world reknown naval architect Gerry Dijkstra and his team. A modern underwatership and an easy to handle sailplan, promise safe and speedy passagemaking.  Her retractable keel will allow for trips up rivers and into shallow bays, places’where a keelyacht would feer to tread.

Long Tall Sally is for sale under a fractional ownership program. Joining the team of owners, you will invest in making your nautical dreams come true. Simultaneously you will invest in a start up company with an innovative approach to yacht ownership and the way it should be run commercially.

Sally Forth’s exterior shall be identical to Long Tall Sally’s. Her interior will be finetuned to best suit her investors requirements. We are currently working out a so called Cape Cod interior (see the sketches).

The vessel’s itinerary shall also be adjusted to conform her investor’s wishes, but from all the option available high latitude destinations shall dominate the route as with all our other expeditionyachts.
